On Tuesday July 16, 2013, southern rap artists Lil’ Wyte will release a collaborative album with fellow Tennessee rapper JellyRoll called “No Filter.” Wyte says the entire project was recorded and mastered in 8-days. Wyte also claims both him and JellyRoll have grown as artists and promises fans “No Filter” will feature their “best music yet.”
“I signed with Three 6 Mafia when I was 17-years-old,” said Wyte over the phone. “My life has changed a lot since then. I live in Atlanta now and have two daughters. Jelly had some run-ins with the law in the past but he’s taking charge of his life now and working on creating good karma. We have both matured and our music will reflect that.”
As an effort to promote their album, Lil’ Wyte and JellyRoll will be joining Twiztid on the third-leg of their Abominationz Tour III starting on Aug. 14, 2013, in Chicago, Ill. Wyte says he is very excited to join the tour and expressed his gratitude toward Twiztid and the entire “Juggalo family” for supporting him throughout his career.
Lil’ Wyte says he loves touring, even calling it the favorite part of his job, although he claims life on the road can be stressful and expensive. Wyte says it is all worth it because he gets to make money and connect with his fans.
On June 7, 2013, DJ Paul announced he will be reuniting previous Three 6 Mafia members Gangsta Boo, Crunchy Black, Lord Infamous and Koopsta Knicca for a new project called Da Mafia 6ix. Wyte says Da Mafia 6ix is a project long over due and confirmed his involvement.
“I have been with Three 6 Mafia for a long time but never had the chance to record with all of them,” said Wyte. “Three 6 Mafia have always been trendsetters and if I know DJ Paul the way I do, he’s going to give these kids something they’ve never heard before.”
